Who are TackleTek?

We are a family run business that operates in the pleasure fishing industry supporting both anglers and independent fishing tackle retailers, like the one in your town. We are based in Devon though we operate accounts throughout the UK and spend our limited free time fishing, we go at least once a week. We say we are in the pleasure fishing industry as the sport of fishing is very important as it provides millions of people with an healthy interest, enormous pleasure and of course fishing protects the environment that we live in as anglers spend many hours looking after our own environments.

Is your tackle any good?

Firstly, it is not our tackle. As a company we bring many manufacturers together to enable your local tackle shop to buy competitively and therefore sell competitively and also to offer a wide range of tackle, bait and accessories, wider than many mail order companies!

Why should I worry about my local tackle shop, I buy all my gear mail order?

Next time you go fishing, phone your mail order supplier and ask them which one of your local waters is fishing well at the moment. Then, ask them to put you onto one of the anglers in their store in order for you to gain information on the best method to catch big bream in today's conditions. Then, ask the angler to pass you back to the retailer and ask them to please mail you a pint of mixed and a half a pint of pinkies and will they be here this afternoon?. What have you got against mail order companies?

Nothing, there is a place for everyone that offers good products and service in the angling market place and it is not always possible to get specific equipment from your local supplier BUT just think on Saturday when you are in you local shop collecting your bait or day ticket how much information you pick up. Anglers talking about their conquests, what, where and how. The chap behind the counter will always advise where is fishing well and what baits are catching and then look at what is in your hand on the way out. Maggots and other bait certainly, a few floats, a couple of packets of hooks, that replacement disgorger. Your local tackle shop is always there with the bits and pieces so why not talk to them about that pole or new feeder rod that you fancy. They may not have the latest high priced model but if they deal with TackleTek (and you should make sure that they do) they will have a viable, equal in quality and less expensive alternative leaving more money in your pocket or more tackle in your box!

Who are Team TackleTek, I have never heard of them?

That's the beauty of Team TackleTek, they are mortal anglers such as ourselves offering honest advice as well as testing tackle and bait. Team TackleTek will not offer advice on using the latest expansive gimmick, they offer advice on catching fish with what is in your tackle box or certainly within financial reach of all anglers at their local shop.

My local shop is not yet a TackleTek dealer, can I buy direct from you?

Sorry but you cannot buy direct from TackleTek. Ask your local shop to get one for you, if he doesn't have an account they can still get the item that you require from us though there may be a delivery charge for one item, but you would get that with mail order anyway.

Can I be a sponsored angler?

We are not looking to recruit any more anglers at present but technically yes. If you have angling experience and are prepared to give time and effort back to fishing and to anglers for an amount of tackle (that is all Team TackleTek ask) then when we are looking for more anglers the next member could be you!
